Four Clever Punch Clients Take Home 2021 SBCA Awards
The Santa Barbara Contractors Association is an active, professional organization recognized as one of the leading representative associations in showcasing the work and talents of architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) professionals along the California Central Coast. Founded in 1948 by a group of local contractors, the SBCA represents more than 2,100 industry professionals and serves over 1,500 local businesses in the Santa Barbara area, and strives to promote integrity, excellence in quality of work, and foster community within the construction and building industries. Clever Punch has had the privilege of learning the ins and outs of these booming industries with our agency owner, Jade Flogerzi serving on the board of directors, and we are so proud to support several SBCA awards winners with their ongoing marketing strategy and success.
2021 SBCA Construction Awards
The SBCA “Construction Awards” is the highlight event of the year for Santa Barbara’s building community, and this year’s, “ ‘Suit Up, Boot Up’ “ Western-themed event was no exception. The in-person event presented by Hayward Lumber was held on October 15th at downtown Santa Barbara’s Carriage and Western Art Museum with attendees sporting their best rodeo-inspired looks. Among the talented roster of industry professionals, four Clever Punch Co. clients were declared winners: DMHA Architecture and Interior Design, landscaping firm EcoLawn SB, Matt Shaw Concrete, and UTT Construction.
D.M.H.A Architecture and Interior Design take home two awards
DMHA Architecture and Interior Design is an established architectural and interior design firm based in Santa Barbara with its three-decade-long reputation built on a basis of trust, excellence, and camaraderie. The firm was the recipient of two awards of the evening, the “New Commercial Construction” Award for their work on the Direct Relief World Headquarters and Distribution Center as well as the “Industry Professional Winner”.
Ecolawn’s Cutting Edge Modern Oasis on the Riviera Wins Two Awards
Founded in 2014, EcoLawn is an environmentally focused landscaping firm known for its design of beautiful, yet efficient, landscapes. This cutting-edge teams’ focus on merging beauty and functionality earned them both the “Members Choice Project” award and the “New Kid on the Block - Landscape & Hardscape” award for their project, Modern Oasis on the Riviera.
Matt Shaw Concrete Named Subcontractor of the Year
Carpinteria-native Matt Shaw followed his father’s footsteps into the concrete industry and has since built a brand, reputation, and loyal team of honest, hardworking, and talented individuals. With a career spanning the last 20 years, Matt Shaw Concrete has continued to apply its founding principles of fostering strong relationships and high commitment to excellence, earning them the “Subcontractor of the Year” award and the “Outstanding Craftsmanship by a Subcontractor System/Structural Trades” award for their Rincon Ranch project.
UTT Construction Wins for Outstanding Craftsmanship
Originally founded in 1981, Utt Construction has continued to showcase its commitment to excellence in its nearly 40-year long presence servicing the tri-county area. With an emphasis on local woodworking, Utt Construction’s high attention to detail and homage to traditional craftsmen earned the firm the “Outstanding Craftsmanship by a Finish Trade” award for their European Rift White Oak Cabinetry.
