Client Case Study | Marketing for Burdge Architects

Burdge Architects, award-winning leaders in sustainable design based in Malibu, are pioneering in designing and building zero-carbon residences. Constantly pushing the bounds of design, they remain committed to building a greener future.

In December 2022, they partnered with Clever Punch to streamline their marketing. Despite their successes, they faced the challenge of sustaining a consistent marketing strategy on their own. Our primary role has been to consistently execute their ideas, allowing them to focus on innovation and exceptional architecture.

1. Website Refresh

Burdge wasn’t looking to make significant changes to their website but sought our recommendations on optimizing it to best match the firm’s brand identity. The process included:

  • Reviewing the website with a fine-tooth-comb

  • Making suggested changes to copy, design, layout, and image selection

  • Working with the client to finalize and approve our suggested changes

  • Implementing our changes in-house

  • Overseeing design and copy maintenance ongoing

2. Email Campaigns

We create ongoing marketing materials that show off Burdge's quality work and extensive experience. Monthly email newsletters include:

  • Industry insights & updates

  • Project spotlights

  • Burdge company & team happenings

  • Educational articles & information

3. Social Media

Our strategy for Burdge’s social media presence is to represent their work with high-quality images and copy. Burdge came to us with a large following, so our goal was to maintain consistency with the content we created on their behalf. The process includes:

  • Monthly check-in calls to discuss strategy and projects

  • Batching content to populate the grid

  • Custom copywriting in distinct brand voice

  • Client approval of every image and caption before posting to Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn

  • For Burdge, our team engages with their Instagram following two hours per week

4. Press

Burdge Architects is one of California’s most reputable and high-end residential architects. Their prestige is familiar to many West Coast publications, and Clever Punch stepped in to support any ongoing press initiatives. Our goal: to create credibility and awareness. Our strategy includes:

  • Staying aware of story-telling opportunities

  • Writing press releases and ghost articles

  • Pursuing opportunities with a goal of two published articles per year

  • A Partnership Rooted in Progress

Supporting Burdge in their marketing effort has been a pleasure. Their team is partnering with MariSol Malibu and the Malibu Foundation to lead the Low Carbon Initiative, which seeks to establish legislation for low-carbon building materials.
