This role does not require any sales responsibilities and you are not responsible for finding clients (although we offer a nice referral gift if you do!)
We put the mental health of our team above our clients. That means we will drop a problematic client before we lose a great team member.
SO WHAT DOES A MARKETING ACCOUNT MANAGER DO?
The most important thing is that you have to love people and find fulfillment in helping them succeed. Second, you need to have a knack for writing clear, succinct, dynamic copy. Third, most important thing is that you have to have a sharp eye for good aesthetics and design. That doesn’t mean you have to be an advanced designer but at a bare minimum, you have to know when something looks good.
Clever Punch's Marketing Account Managers help accomplish our client's scope of work on a weekly and monthly basis. Each client has an array of tasks that relate to their big-picture over-arching goals. Those tasks could include copywriting, graphic design, email campaigns, social media management, website design, and updates, arranging photography, analytics, and sometimes boring general data entry tasks. Our Account Managers help us stay on track in completing the week's tasks for the time we have allotted. You'll be communicating with clients directly with updates or for approval, and working with freelancers, delegating and approving their work.
BENEFITS & COMPENSATION
Compensation: Starting salary position at $49,400/year (based on approx $27/hour and a 35-hour workweek) with the potential to grow to up to $60,000 in 12 months.
Schedule: Monday to Thursday, from 9 am to 5 pm, and Friday from 9 am-1 pm.
Vacation: Account Managers receive 4 paid weeks vacation/year. Two weeks can be used, (upon approval), throughout the year, and 2 weeks are forced paid leave over the holidays in December.
Remote Work: Account Managers can request to work remotely outside of the Santa Barbara area, up to two weeks per year, at half of their weekly wages, (regardless of the hours worked.)
Healthcare: Clever Punch’s Medical benefits are provided by Anthem Gold PPO by Blue Cross, and offered to all full-time employees.
Work Phone: Clever Punch provides an iPhone and monthly phone plan for all account managers. This is to contribute to a healthy work/life balance. Texts, emails, and calls should not be taken outside of work hours, and clients should not have Account Manager’s personal contact information.
Team Lunch: Provided on the last Thursday of every month from 12 pm-1 pm.
Self Care / Fitness Contribution: Clever Punch will contribute half of an Account Manager’s expense towards fitness, or self-care, up to $100/month. Qualified examples include gym or fitness memberships, medical spas, acupuncture etc.

Great at design, especially an eye for layout, and quick with Canva at a minimum. Experience with InDesign is a plus!
Stellar at writing. We care less about spelling and grammar (thank you Grammarly tool) and more about punchy, dynamic, vibrant copy that captures the unique voice of each of our clients.
Ideal qualities and skills are curiosity, ownership, drive, integrity, critical thinking, a caring attitude, and a desire to help others.
Experience using Squarespace and Mailchimp are also ideal.
