So what does a Marketing Account Manager do?

The most important thing is that you have to love people and find fulfillment in helping them succeed. Second, you need to have a knack for writing clear, succinct, dynamic copy. Third, most important thing is that you have to have a sharp eye for good aesthetic and design. That doesn’t mean you have to be an expert with Adobe Illustrator or InDesign, but at a minimum, you have to know when something looks good.

Clever Punch's Marketing Account Manager helps accomplish our client's scope of work on a weekly and monthly basis. Each client has an array of tasks that relate to their big picture over-arching goals. Those tasks could include copywriting, graphic design, email campaigns, social media management, website design and updates, photography, analytics, and even general data entry tasks. Our Account Managers help us stay on track in completing the week's tasks for the time we have allotted. You'll be communicating with clients directly with updates or for approval, and may work with other freelancers, delegating and approving their work.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for this position will have...

- a caring attitude and genuine enthusiasm for helping people

- the ability to write intelligent and succinct copy for a brand

- that "creative eye" with an aesthetic to know good design when they see it

- a drive to accomplish tasks, and push through when obstacles arise

- highly organized, self-disciplined and great at time management

- the ability to identify when designs are true to the brand

- beginner to intermediate graphic design skills

- an educational interest and/or past work experience in business or marketing

- working knowledge of the following programs is a bonus; canva, photohsop, illustrator, squarespace, wordpress, mailchimp

- willingness to be a team player and rely on other freelancers to accomplish tasks

What if you’ve never had a role like this before?
We have a super supportive training program to set you up for success, and plenty of ways to help you start dipping your toes, and building your confidence, long before working with your own clients! We also work in buddy systems, so you always have a more experienced buddy to lean on as a sounding board and second set of eyes.

Must be based in Santa Barbara. Our team works from the lovely Kiva building in the Funk Zone. This position is for 30hrs / week, M-F from 9am-3:30pm. Compensation is $19/hr for a 90 day trial period and $21/hr thereafter. Benefits include full-time membership at Kiva CoWork, a new iPhone, and paid vacation. Training could start as early as February. (The option for healthcare benefits with a lower hourly wage are available.)
