How to Get the Most Out of Your Professional Photoshoot
Brand Photography Is One of the Best Investments for Your Marketing Budget
We trust people we know. This same principle is true with how people choose businesses to support. So, ask yourself: Do your clients actually know you? Photos show potential clients whom they will be working with, show off the incredible work you do, and convey what makes you and your workplace unique. A single photoshoot can provide the content you may use for months - or years! - and is one of the smartest marketing investments you’ll make. With the experience of 100s of photoshoots under our belt, we’re sharing how to make every professional shoot successful (and showing examples of some of our favorite photo shoots.)
Like All Marketing Initiatives, Photoshoots Should Revolve Around a Big-Picture Goal
Good photography is so much more than just a pretty picture. We take the initiative to plan ahead with our clients; we start with a goal, decide how upcoming content can help achieve that goal, and then plan our photoshoots accordingly. Is your company’s biggest challenge attracting qualified candidates? Our goal would be to convey why your company is an excellent place to work, and from there, we can plan a photo shoot that shows your team, your workspace, and all the unique work you do.
How We Plan Successful Photoshoots
Fun fact: we take care of all the details, so you don’t have to. Communication is key to ensuring everyone is on the same page and feels respected, so we coordinate everything via email and always CC everyone involved. Before the shoot, we create a shot list which ensures we get photos of the projects, people, and places that highlight who you are and your work; this doesn’t mean we have to get every single shot, but it helps the photographer with ideas and enables them to be efficient with their time. Nervous about what you should wear? We also include tips for how to look your best!
How We Execute Successful Photoshoots
Remember: this is an investment of your marketing budget and time. While our clients are welcome to share ideas, we like to avoid having too many cooks in the kitchen and, therefore, give the photographer complete control of the shoot. Our photographers are experienced enough to both shoot high-quality photos and give direction. If the photographer says the shot won’t work, trust them. As it often goes, it's best to leave it up to the professionals.
